So I made friends with some mailboxes a few days ago when it was nice and icy on my dirt roads and took out a headlight/turn signal/etc, and I have been thinking for a while and was wondering if it would be possible/feasible to swap a 97+ cherokee grill/lights etc onto my 92 xj?

yup, light wires are a bit different as the 97+ has 2 marker lights as opposed to only 1 on the 92, but easy enough to figure out.
the panel mounts a little different, but the bolts along the top has been known to hold it all together, or you can change out your fenders to the newer ones to give you that smooth look, plus the proper mounting points.
i have everything to swap out my 90, just haven't gotten to it yet.
it's been done many times, there's lots of write-ups on the net for this.
