Head light problem
I've tried searching, but nothing seems to fit what I have. The xj is my brothers. 96 xj 2wd auto 6cyl. Headlights cut off on him. Replaced the blown fuse and did it again. Replaced fuse and switch, they would go off and after letting it sit a while, they would come back on. The switch is getting hot until the fuse blows. Blowing number 15 fuse on under dash panel. When fuse is blown and removed, if you turn on the switch, all the lights come on but are real dim. Any suggestions?

Pull fuse #4 and see if the problem persists. If you still have the dim lights with #4 and #15 pulled, pull #9....
Something is either backfeeding power, or else there is a bad ground and that circuit is trying to pull ground through the headlight switch. Its gonna be a process of elimination to find out what is related here.
