Default Head gasket water jackets???

having my head rebuilt and just relized none of the water jackets are cut out on the driver side of the head gasket?? is this normal?

ya thats it but the water jackets on one side of the engine are blocked.

Make sure "front" is front and make sure you have the proper side up.

If you are referring to those sorta-triangle shaped passages, those are supposed to be blocked by the gasket to keep the water temp across the head more uniform.

Ya thats what i was talking about. Didnt make sense to me. I read some guy cut them out and it made it run alot cooler.
