Default head gasket leak

so to start off i took my jeep in for a head gasket because of a oil leak on the passenger side on the back half of the block. They fixed it and a month or two later the same leak appeared again. took it back under warrenty and they did it again milling the head this time. Got it back and same leak appeared again after another month or two. took it back yet again when they gave it back this time they told me the PCV valve had a tear in the line just before the valve cover. they told me thats why it leaked and replaced that piece that had the tear. my questin is would that tear cause my head gasket to leak the oil or is the shop just screwin me over? thanks

Depends on the year of the Jeep. the newer ones do not have a PCV valve, but rather a CCV valve. If clogged, from what i have heard they will leak. But since yours wasnt clogged they might have thrown some BS at you.

yahh mine is a 95 and i would understand a little blow by possibly out of where it was torn but im finding it hard to believe that it would cause the head gasket to leak

I take it as them saying the oil was coming out the PCV (CCV) system.

Sounds like maybe the cracked line was leaking some oil and it made it appear that the headgasket was leaking again?

no the mechanic tried to say that it caused the head gasket to leak, he said because it was torn it built up pressure and caused the oil to leak physicly from the head gasket

Your mechanic is an idiot... And trying to cover his *** for charging you for a head gasket when it was a cracked vent line. And for the record, no jeep 4.0 has a true pcv system. It is just a vent

yea your headgasket was fine the entire time... i'm never ever ever had a engien that leaked oil from in between the head and the block... if anything they will suck water into the combustion chamber if they are blown...
