Either find a replacement axle from an ABS equipped XJ or possibly you can just pull the ABS fuse and relay to disable the system.

the 89 ABS is problematic anyway. Ill find you a writeup on how to remove it in a minute.

I agree that the 88-90 ABS system "is problematic" but when I put the Dana 44 in mine I couldn't use the ABS and didn't want to start changing boosters (I know how much it helps) so I just removed my front wheel sensors, zip tied them out of the way and pulled the rear sensors back into the body and tied them to the ABS computer under the rear seat. I really expected to have all kinds of lights and no brakes but was pleasantly surprised to find out everything still worked as before but obviously without any ABS function. No unusual lights, noises or loss of brake power(Now there is the understatement of the year). My next project IS to change over to a 95-96 system but for now everything works just fine or as fine as the Bendix brake system can be.
