I had intermitent fuel gauge dropping way below E and fuel pump cuttin out on me on on the side of roads and highways constantly and id wiggle fuel pump wiring and it'd work. very insafe and annoying.

Ground wire attatched to fuel pump assy rusted off. when i was checking wiring. that was the culpret.

Can i wire wheel fuel pump face and solder a ground back on it?

Can I ground it anywhere else?

I'm trying not to buy a new fuel pump assy just for something this simple.

 

I would run new wires, solder and than coat the solders in resin of some sort to protect it from the elements.

 

I ran new wires, but the single wire attatched to the side of the fuel pump is gone.

can i solder to bare metal?

 

Just use flux to make sure its not a cold solder.
