ground wire attatched to fuel pump. Solder?

ground wire attatched to fuel pump. Solder?
I had intermitent fuel gauge dropping way below E and fuel pump cuttin out on me on on the side of roads and highways constantly and id wiggle fuel pump wiring and it'd work. very insafe and annoying.
Ground wire attatched to fuel pump assy rusted off. when i was checking wiring. that was the culpret.
Can i wire wheel fuel pump face and solder a ground back on it?
Can I ground it anywhere else?
96 cherokee 4x4 5 speed
