Default Grease Compatibilities

It's time to do a grease job and I have an issue:

I lube everything with the red Valvoline Chrysler multi-purpose grease.

When I rebuilt all my steering gear at a buddy's house, he jumped the gun and lubed all the TREs and new joints with a gray Ford multi-purpose grease.

I don't think the two are compatible. Do I need to lube with two different greases now or can I "flush" the Ford stuff out and re-lube with Chrysler?

Thoughts?

I believe they're both lithium based greases, the red has slightly better temperature range. I don't see a problem, but flush them if you like.
