Alright guys so I was under my 99 tonite messing with the starter and saw something weird. My oil filter adapter leaks so the back side of the engine is covered in oil, but right at the bottom of the bellhousing the oil is gray, almost like its full of metal shavings? I thought maybe the pump in the transmission was messed up, but the trans fluid is clean and doesn't smell. Any ideas?

Gray typically means there is water in the oil. Any time my diffs, t-case, or trans take on water they end up gray-milkeshake like. What is the consistency of the liquid?
