GRABLE
Hi guys, I am new here. Found this site while trying to find out if the front wheel bearings on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ has wheel bearings that can be packed? I also have 2 99 XJ's, one a 4x4 and the other a 2 wheel drive and would also like to know about them if any of U know. The reason I have 3 is: Loved the first one so much I bought the 2 wheel drive for my wife. Then when they ended production I decided to buy the 3rd one. They just don't make things like they used to. I had a list of so many things about this Cherokee it would be almost impossible to type here. Hope some of you can answer my question about the wheel bearings. THANKS MUCH!

My Jeep was originally 2wd, and it used unit bearings with stubs shafts that had no ears.

The only XJ wheel bearing that were ever packable were the first year or two of production, period. 2wd bearings are the same as 4wd, except that a spindle is used instead of a stub axle.
