Default got water in my jeep.

Went Mudding this weekend. Stalled in a hole and water flooded into the jeep. Got pulled out and jeep cranked right up. Continued to play in the mud. Drove 2 hours back home it ran fine no problems. Didn't drive it yesterday. Went to crank it this morning and battery is dead. Any ideas.

Any way to fix it or just get a new one. It's a new starter. Just put it in last week.

if the battery is dead, it's most likely the alternator.

remove the alt, disassemble the case and clean out all the mud from the brushes.

if you don't want to disassemble, the at least remove and clean out with a brush and hose water.

when you get it clean, then you can spray a contact cleaner on the "spool of wire".

jeep places the alternator is a very vulnerable spot to water.

Could be a short in quite a few places.

Do some tests. Figure out whats bad.

Yeah the battery is completly drained. I pressure washed my engine and underneth the jeep as well to remove all dirt and mud. That was on the way home. My brother had the same problem with his jeep when he submerged it. After everything dried he charged the battery and everything was normal. I'll take off the starter and alternater and check and clean them. It's been through way worse and never quit. Thanks for the info

i've sank mine pretty deep a few times.
always ends up just being the alternator if it's a muddy hole.

Well i took a jump box and it crank right up no problems. Voltmeter did show a small drain when i cut it off. Went back two hours later and and tried to crank it and it cranked up first turn. I do think it might have a small short some where I think there is still some condinsation conneting a circut somewhere. Hopefuly when it fully dries out it will stop. Of not on the hunt ill go. Hard to air it out with all the rain here in flordia.
