Default Got my Iron Scorpion Winch Bumper today!!!

I ordered it sunday night and am very pleased with how fast it got here.
i was a little worried when i ordered it because it was like 350 bucks after shipping to get it to my house in NJ. i also got the optional stinger bar.

i just got done unpacking it and reading the instructions. i cant wait to get started on it ill get some pics when i do

also i did not get the long mount plates. i plan on building a TMR style frame stiffener http://www.bsfab.net/?p=33 but extending them to the end of the front frame were the bumper attaches. i would think that would be just as strong if not stronger than the long frame mounts. i am sure 6 bolts will be enough to hold the bumper on during heavy winching

I have 7 bolts on one side and 8 on the other and they get loose so this last time I tightened them I used locktite on the threads.

i live in pitman. its in south jersey. Gloucester county.
ill get pics when it stops raining soo hard i cant even get out to my garage theres so much water in my back yard

yeah but do u think 3 grade 8's on either side would hold the bumper on fine?

hahah good old pitman..I just graduated from Rowan in June..right next to pitman...grew up in Woodbury Heights and now I live in Marlton

Can't wait to see the pics..$350 shipped out here to NJ ain't bad at all

really why? i am going to be plating the frame with 3/16 plate and the mounts are 1/4 plate. i realize the need for a million bolts on an xj frame to spread out the weight so the thin frame doesnt tear but i would think with a thick frame 3 bolts a side would be enough. its pretty hard to shear 6 bolts and i guarantee the plate wont tear

look up grade 8 bolts in the size your wanting and see what they hold.

at 1/4 inch grade 8 bolts the breakage point is 4700 lbs, 3 on each side should hold due to pure strength but the more the merry
