gonna break my brakes
so i finally get around to putting my axle back under. everything go going mad. bolts bad. parts seized. i go to put the calipers on and i notice theyre fully extended, the piston, so i c-clamp it. doesnt budge. i go to pep boys and get replacements for a 92 d30. then i wondered why they didnt fit. i forgot it was an 88 axle. go the next day and get the 88s. then i went home and tried to put my pads on. nothing. go back and get pads for an 88. looked at them. didnt look like the right thing. they dont go on the caliper. i go back and show them that the pads dont fit the calipers. found out they gave me a couple 88 wagoneer calipers..... they dont have the ones i need. where can i get some for cheap?

Napa Auto parts,Autozone,Advance Auto parts etc etc.
Also are you sure the old calipers were seized? Rear calipers are not the same as fronts, you have to turn them as you are pushing them in.I believe it is because of the e - brake mechanism or something like that.

on the 88 axle, the pads slide on the caliper mount, then the caliper fits over those.
the 88 also has a separate bolt on caliper mount.
i put an 89 axle in my 90 and ran into the same problem, so i just swapped out the knuckles. very easy to do, and didn't have to mess with swapping calipers or opening the brake lines.
