a lot of people will say wheeling your ride hard doorless makes them never fit right cause they supposedly keep you rigid... i think its crap though theres no way the hinge at the back (which is the only contact point in the rear of the door) can add enough support to make that big of a difference.. if anything changes please post up! im really curious about this

Yeah, I just chopped up some tj flares and put some diamond plated steel in the holes, haha, turned out ok, but i dont really like em. As far as being rigid after hard wheelin, i'll let you know, but it makes no sense that it would make a difference because if that were true your doors would be stuck shut after a tough ride wouldnt they?

Haha there you go! Ive read a lot about that though and the only way it would really help is in an accident where you hit something, crawling around shouldnt do much unless you roll or something, but im no expert, but i did some research before i threw off the doors!

Yep, you notice its mostly the wrangler drivers that say that...they hate it when they see doorless cherokees! Dont look on jeepforum.com to find your answer to this! You will get the thumbs down.
There is some truth to that information, but I'm thinking it doesn't really apply to these trucks.
I know you are suppose to watch older muscle cars, mainly convertables. For examply my dad's 68 Camaro convertable. If on a lift, or working on the car with any wheel off the ground you are suppose to closely watch door spacing. The first gen Camaros were unibody, just like these Cherokees, but those were from different eras.
Lucky we've got ladder bars and other frame braces and don't really have cause for concern.
But, again, thats not a Cherokee, and Cherokees aren't convertables. The whole roof, B pillers and such keep things rigid for us, even with doors off.
On a completely off topic side note, I really wish Wrangler owners would lay off Cherokees. I've got both, and don't see any issues with either truck.
They are both Jeeps!

Yeah i see what you are saying, it makes sense, but like you said, its a chereokee, made to flex, unlike a camaro. So you are right, good comment about wranglers, both jeeps, thats all there is to it.

doors pretty float in the openings, giving no support or strength
