Go big or go home... Right??
So.. here is my thinking.. ive got 2 jeeps. im 20. and only need one of them.
My 89 has a 5 inch lift with 33s, an ugly (but cool) front push bar w/ winch. roof rack and 32" spare. nothing major to the axels or motor but runs sooo good. rides so rough tho and i hardly drive it.
My 2000 has a 4 inch lift with 31s and the exterior and interior are stock. runs amazing now i fixed everything on it.
Here is my plan... Lift the 2000 6.5" and putting all the goodies off the 89 onto it. wheels, bumper, roof rack, etc.. im pretty sure the bumpers will swap out but want to double check.
Any input is awesome guys

Keep both use the better 2000 for your DD, and make the old clucker 89 just for off-roading, this way you can keep the better all around 2000 in good shape.(use for DD and maybe like mild backroads etc). then you can have the best of both worlds. They are paid off and you won't end up with a car payment if you do this, just my (very nice rigs by the way 2000 looks sweet,by the way this is what we did with our rigs kept the better 2000 for DD and run the other off-road)Watch the angry comments come cause I called the 89 a cluncker lol.

Thanks guys! The feedback helps a ton. This was my original plan. (to keep both) they are like kids when it comes to taking care of them ha well worth it tho. I guess its time to buy new parts for the front end of the 89. She needs the front end done.. again.. so.. here's a thought. After I redo the front end. What's the best way to keep my alignment straight enough to get to a shop to get it done? As we speak. The 89 has the death wobble like no other. And the shop won't touch it for an alignment because the loose front end components.. anyone have a sweet alignment remedy? Just to tide me over till I redo the front end?

You can try to do the alignment by yourself at home. Check this link out.

Pull measurements from front of tire and back of tire the adjust the long rod that connects both knuckles until you are 1/16 in on the front side thats good enough to get you to the alignment shop thats how i did mine still have not got it aligned

Doing toe in is far easier than any other repair to the front. When I was 21 i had two XJ's that were almost identical (black 2 door sports). My plan was 1 tons and 40" on the bare bone XJ and DD the loaded one. Well the loaded one was rather rusty and just when I was about to buy a d60/14b, my GF totaled her car so i gave her the rust bucket. It now sits behind the barn as my parts jeep/parts locker. It would still be on the road but I trashed the trans pump pulling a trailer.
My recommendation is make a 1 ton XJ
