Getting ready for a busy week...
Today I was finally was able to buy everything I need to tackle the interior and prep work before taking the Jeep to the body shop next Saturday.
After a while of driving around with open steel I'm finally going to redo the headliner,
I scored a sound bar last weekend. Now I've just got to recover it with the new headliner material and find the best place to hang it.
After seeing a few other build reports, I've decided to pull the carpet and check for rust - originally being a southern Jeep I hope it's minimal if at all,
I also picked up my carpet today so now I can finish building and finally install my home-brew rear gear tray,
After all that, I'm going to pull off the cowl and wipers, bumpers, fender flares, badges, and roof racks to help save on shop labor expenses.
It will all be worth it though come the following weekend when I pick the beast up from the shop.

It's getting repainted, but with a twist.
From the door handles up will the original silver paint, from the door handles down to the rocker panels it will be black bedliner material. Then the rockers will be done in grey bedliner material.
This is a quick photoshop job (pre-lift, etc.) of how it's going to look:
Oh yea, I just bought a grill guard this week as well. I'll install that and my fog lights after it returns from the shop.

Going to be a long week (updated)
After three realllllllly late nights, the Jeep is finally ready to head off to the body shop.
Here are the last two shots of it with the Swatch Watch fender and faded paint. I had pulled off the wipers, cowl, and all the grill work - but since it's supposed to rain tonight and I've got a two hour drive to the body shop - I opted not to dare taking a rock through the radiator so I put it all back on.
No biggie, I can yank all that off when I get there.
No matter how I twisted the razor blade, I simply could not remove those strips of pinstriping under the door panels. No worries though, the body shop can deal with that.
and for (sleep deprived) giggles, here's a photoshop look into the future. This time, it has the wheels and lift though.
Not too bad considering it looked like this not too long ago...
