getting a new mj. 4x4 swap question?

im prob getting a 2.5l 2wd commanche tom. and i have a 4x4 swap question. i plan on running the 4 banger til i can afford a v8 swap(might sell the xj to fund this build?). the question i have is....can i swap a 4 banger 4x4 tranny and t-case in it? i know with 4.0l's you can swap trannys but have no clue on these 4 cyls. is it still an ax-5, just with 2wd outputshaft and tail housing?

any info would be greatly appriciated!!!

Engine: 4.0L Renix

Yes you need a 4 banger tranny and transfercase. Front axle and both driveshafts. You have different driveshafts for SWB and LWB Comanches.

Engine: 4.3L with headers and full 3" exhaust system

And don't forget transfer case linkage and possibly vacuum harness for the axle if it needs it.

my axles out of my xj ( hp d44 and 9 inch) are going in it.....along with custom d shafts. thanks for the info..now to go try to talk the guy down on price!!!
