I found some gears from a wrangler with the dana 30/35 set up like my xj has. Will these work on my 2000 model cherokee?

 

Depends on what year Wrangler. YJ has a high pinion 30 and TJ has low pinion like your 2000 model. Keep in mind carrier breaks. 30 is 3.55 and 3.73 and 35 is 3.20something and 3.55.

 

It's a 97 tj, mine has 3.55 gears. I know I will need change the front carrier but I was not sure about the back carrier.

 

What gear ratio are they. If you have 3.55s your rear carrier will work with those down to 4.88s.

 

The wrangler has 4.11's, my xj has 3.55.

 

Rear carrier will be fine and the front will need replaced (45 bucks). I'd recommend changeing the bearings as well since you are in there anyway. Look at the gears closely if they are used. Chips and sharp edges are a sign the PO didn't have them installed well and they will hum.
