Hey all, i got a 90xj with a 30 cad / 35 setup, i really liked the idea of a gc t case....full time/ part time 4wd mostly ...anyways i wanted to know if i did like a hp dana 30 shafts and removed the cad, and shortened the output/ ds as needed, are there any other major mods needed to make it work?

 

Some XJs that early had he 242 or 249 (I forget which one came in the XJs) as well.

It should be fairly easy.

 

Mine is a 231 i know gcs had the 242 so i didnt know if it could be a direct swap or what

 

I also have a 231, but not all XJs had the 231s. Some had part time and full time 4wd, which isnt a 231.
