Just want to double check that a full gauge from a 94 XJ will plug and play to a 96 XJ with idiot gauges, aside from changing out the necessary senders? Thanks

96 is a bastard child. In 97 things became OBDII and most of the electrical stuff changed. A lot of other stuff changed, too. 96 models seem to have some of the older, and some of the newer. It seems to depend on which assembly line and when in the year it was built.
All that to say, it might be okay. But I don't think you can know for sure without trying it.
If you can verify that all the connectors are present, and match up, I'd say go for it.

If there is an LED in the oil pressure gauge, then you need the two wire harness and sender to have low oil light capability. My 1996 XJ is one wire, pressure only reading.

Ok, I believe it should plug and play, but don't quote me on that. As long as the plugs for the cluster are the same, they should work, since the cluster didn't really change until 1997.
One thing, you will just have to change the oil pressure and temp sending units.
They are different for an idiot light than the full gauge. Look online, there is quite a bit of info. Use a mopar cooling temp sensor, and even a mopar oil pressure sensor if possible, some parts house brands are junk.

There will be only a single wire connection on each - this is fine. The new sending units WILL connect directly into these existing connectors and function correctly.
