gauge cluster and shifter lights went out

Happened a day after installing an aftermarket stereo. Checked the driver floor fuse box and the 5 amp gauges fuse was toast. Switched that out but still no lights. Tail lights and headlights are fine as well as the gaugees everything still functions. The part time 4x4 light still cmoes on. Any ideas?the ac control panel lights also do not light up

Double check your wiring at the stereo. Sounds like you hooked into the illumination circuit and possibly fried your headlight switch illumination ciruit. Check that 5 amp fuse again as well. Good chance it burned right back out after you put in a new one
