I need to replace the tank in my '84, it leaks. I've got a tank out of a '90, I'd need to remove the electric fuel pump and put in the sending unit from the '84 right? Is there any other differences between these two tanks? (Outside dimensions look the same.)

Johnny check that the two straps are the same distance apart. If they are then it should work for your application with a carb. Some of the earlier tanks are just old stock from the mid 80s being used up. The later 96+ tanks are a little different I am told. (I only have older junk)

 

So there internals are the same? No baffle to get in the way?
