Gas tank pressure

Model: Cherokee
Gas tank pressure
New to this 1984 Cherokee with 2.5 liter. When it has been operating for awhile, I open the gas cap and there is some pressure (hissing noise when cap removed). Is this normal? If not, please give me some directions on what to look for.
