gas mileage on 4.0 l6
I drive a 2000 grand cherokee limited
automatic
158,000 miles
2wd
Just had spark plugs replaced(champion platnium sparks) and air filter replaced since i had no idea when they were last replaced. When i bought the jeep at 150,000 miles i was getting 20 mpg city 23 highway. But after 155,000 now im only getting 15-18 city.20 highway even after replacing the plugs.Anything else i can do other then replacing o2 sensors for now to improve mileage stock? Im somewhat tight on cash right now and o2 sensors are 75 bucks apiece.
thanks
edit: also..disconnecting to battery and letting it drain to reset the brain...will it help any at all since ive installed the plugs and filter?

Mine usually peeks up around 22 on the highway and 18 city. I only use autolite platinum plugs and the gold series cap and rotor with bosch wires. It all cost a little more but I have always been satisfied with results... also, my o2 sensor is rather old as I have had the Jeep for five years and never replaced it. Other than that, everybody else has mentioned to be easy on the gas pedal...
