Gas Milage
Hey guys I just bought a stock 98 XJ. What kind of gas milage are you getting? I am doing about 200 miles on tank I fill up right after reserve light turns on, with 17 gallons. Are there any common problems that could affect gas milage or is that normal. Thanks

How many miles are on it? Hows it run? Lucas fuel injector cleaner works really well. Buy the $10 bottle, put in a dosage every couple fill ups and you should see an improvement.
I was getting about 17.7mpg, then after a few times with the FIJ I got up to 20.1mpg.
My check engine light came on, and my milage went down the tank. One of my smaller vacum hoses that connected to the cruise control mechanism was broken in half. I got 15mpg then, and for some reason, it looks like its not doing so great again

But the one tank I got 20.1 was freaking fantastic.
BTW it seems you are getting around 11-12mpg.

Mines a hog for gas for some reason. Last i looked 5 gallons lasted me 40 miles around town. (driving normal) I dont get it

The car has 110,000 miles. I know I have a bad cat, but I recived a new one today and I will install it. My cruice does not work either maby a vacum leak. Would vacum leak cause gas economy to drop by that much?
