Default gas gauge problem

The gas gauge in my 1998 Cherokee doesn't work and the low fuel light is on. I installed a new fuel level sender/fuel pump assembly but it still doesn't work. I can't find a wiring diagram for the instrument cluster. Can anyone out there help?

He says he has a 1998. Is this a grounding issue? Or maybe it needs some fuel in it as it is indicating! You never stated that you put any fuel in it after replacing the assembly.
