I have read of a lot of people using the krylon fusion spray paint to blacken up their flares and having excellent results. I was wondering if anyone has used it on the door handles. How does it hold up to continuous contact? Is it resistant to chemicals that may be on hands? Any other suggestions on a permanent way to freshen up handles.

heat, from either a heat gun or carefully with a propane torch.
works great for black flares, bumpers, even interior panels.
works only on molded black parts tho, not painted. obviously.
just take your time doing it, don't scorch it.

but don't waste your time with a hair dryer, not hot enough.

I have heard of doing that but I couldnt figure out why it would work. How long do the results last?

depends on where you live, i guess.
some guys here have done it a year ago and it still looks ok.

i've painted mine with krylon fusion, but it stripped off one flare a month later.
