Default Fuel smell in cab, ONLY in reverse

I can smell fuel in the cab, and strong, but only while in reverse or immediately after. I checked the injectors, no leaks, and I can't see any fuel residue under where I park it, or any drips while it is running. What could be causing this?

What is it a 1973 Isuzu box truck, a Model T, maybe a 1959 T-bird? I'm tired of guessing why don't you just tell us what it is?

You may have a leak at the top of your fuel tank, (fuel pump assy o-ring,rust hole,..). You could back it up on a set of ramps and look for fuel leaking near the top/front of the tank. A flashlight often helps.

I know other chrysler products have the circle o-ring assembly on top of the tank, my grandpas ram 1500 leaked fuel from it, until we replaced it that it's. My xj leaked fuel as well and I got the tank replaced because it wasn't in the nicest shape anyways

I thought of that possibility also. I figured that it would be good to ModularKnight look for a raw fuel leak first.

I'm going to replace the cat and see if it goes away. I haven't been able to inspect it since I got the vehicle (it's literally been 10 degrees this week) but I have a sneaking suspicion it's rotted out. And hasn't been changed for 12 miles.

12 miles on one cat....that is pushing it

But why not have a look first, instead of starting to replace stuff? I know its cold, but...

Have you had a chance to look for any fuel leakage? Maybe go in reverse then crawl under with a flashlight and take a look.

Why not use a lit Butane torch to find the leak...You'll know where it is quick enough..
