things to improve fuel economy above the factory specified

improved air filter
improved ignition (i.e. msd ingition, improved plugs, lower resistance wires, hei distributor)
cold air intake
lowering back pressure in the exhaust
turbos and superchargers
lowering temp in engine compartment. wrapping the exhaust manifold (especially on the 4.0) is the easiest way to lower engine compartment temp. the colder the air the better it burns the more efficient the engine will run.
engine block heaters in cold environments. you don't have to let the engine warm up as long. it also extends the life of your engine

basically any thing that will make a more efficient use of the fuel your using will improve fuel economy

all of these will also add horsepower or torque. their are two kids of add ons. the ones that make a more efficient use of fuel and the ones that just add more fuel. both are good but the first is alot better
