Ya. It's in the fsm, haynes or chiltons. Or just do it. Relieve the pressure unplug the pump disconnect the lines knock the lock ring out and pull the pump. Don't forget to unhook the battery and make sure the tank is low on gas.

I'd recommend figuring out what caused failure, it would be a shame to replace the pump and have it go right back out due to a rusty tank. Don't forget to replace the fuel filter.

Hey Slick ----
A very good write-up on the fuel pump replacement. I was wondering if you can confirm for me that the '98 Cherokee pump may be replaced without draining and removing the plastic fuel tank from the vehicle?
Also, can you tell me if you've encountered a "complete" fuel pump replacement which includes the fuel filter/pressure regulator and fuel gage sending unit as a complete package ? Part numbers and sources for such a pump would be helpful as well.
Thanks, Webb

I got this, but have yet to install. It's for my 96 so maybe not the same as a 98...
Think you have to drop the tank or cut the floor on 98+. They changed the location from the front to the top somewhere right around 98 I think?
