I have a 87 Cherokee wagoneer and it has a Bosch 9580810019 fuel pump. My parts store says this Carter p74155b is the oem replacement but it looks nothing the same and does not fit good in my factory cradle assembly at all! When all the bolts are tight the pump is still loose and the + terminal can actually touch the mounting bracket! Any ideas?

take yours in and get one that matches it closer. that is probably a universal one. will work but.........
I have taken it to bumper to bumper and auto zone and both say this is the only good name brand they offer for my jeep! I ran the Bosch # on google search and summit racing shows to have it but their website doesn't show a picture of it so I need to call to make sure it's right since it's double the price! I was just wondering if anyone else has ran into this?

I would like to know if anyone found the best and cheapest way to fix the problem on the bosch fuel pump #9580810019. I'm really having a hard time finding one except at summit. And it is high an no picture to make sure it is the right one. Does anyone have any suggestions?

That one you got (the carter) didn't fit mine very well either and then failed within a few weeks of use.
I got the bosch version they had at napa to fit it (my 88) and it is much quieter.. Not sure if I'd recommend it yet but it also failed. Something to do with having junk in it, I'd say. Dunno.

I had the same problem on my 88, the one Napa has didn't fit the mounting bracket. I got mine from rockauto.com. Just run the part number and it should come up. I think it was about $120 and got here in 2-3 days. Summit said something like 2-4 weeks.
once I got the right one, everything went back together fairly smooth.
