Default Fuel Pump Mayhem

My vehicle is a 92 Sport 2WD, AT. I replaced the fuel pump due to non-start, no fuel pressure at the rail and couldn't here it prime when turning the ignition. So dropped the tank, replaced the pump, re-installed, added 5 gallons of gas.

Now you can hear it prime when turning the ignition, but still no pressure at the rail. Then swapped all the relays around (fuel pump/auto shutdown) as a test and they appear to be functional.

With the vehicle off, overrode the fuel pump with a paperclip and let the fuel pump run 15 seconds. Disconnected the fuel line from the gas tank side of the fuel filter, dry as a bone. This is my first fuel pump (in tank) replacement exercise.

Any ideas what I might have missed? Thank you in advance.......

There should be an inline fuel filter, worth your time to check it. Unlikely the issue, but a box to check.

Did you replace the whole assembly as a unit or just the pump?

I just replaced the pump, the assembly appeared to be in good shape.

Got the inlet filter sock on and the outlet hose clamped down good? No kink in the outlet hose? How about if you pinch off the fuel return line after the regulator, any rail pressure then?
