Default Fuel Pump issues

Hey guys Im Keith. Im pretty new to the forum this is my first post. been meaning to do an intro thread but ive been to busy playing with my new(to me) 1989 jeep Cherokee. any way here is the problem.

I took it out to the junkyard to pick up some s10 leafs and zj coils (Bastard Lift FTW ) when I came out the truck would turn over but not fire. So the first thing i did was the the key to run and depress the fuel pressure test port thats on the fuel rail (probably not the right name but i think u get my drift) to see if the system is priming. well there wasnt even a drip.

here is some back story on the jeep. When i bought it the feul pump was make a roar. So we drop the tank and it was corroded. Went ahead and replaced the fuel pump and gas. Problem Solve. It been running like a top since we replaced the tank/pump a week ago until now.

here are my questions
1 should i be getting pressure from the test port that i describe above
2 since i just replace the fuel pump what are some other common issues that could cause the it not to prime all of sudden

thanks for any advice
