Hey guys. So yesterday I decided to take my injectors out and clean them. I took the battery out since it was a old one and pulled the injectors by following a injector write up. After I got the injectors back in and new battery in, the jeep wouldn't start. It turned over but when I turn the key to run, I can't hear the fuel pump like I used to. I haven't messed with anything else but the injectors.
I have a 96 jeep cherokee. The jeep sat for a week at the most without being started. Please let me no what I check or try. Thanks

And not hearing the fuel pump like you used to, as in not at all, or very soft/intermittent/awkward?
If you dont hear the fuelpump prime when turning to key to on, I think we go from there.

I don't hear any sound from the fuel pump. I used to hear it prime before this project.

Well, that is something to start with, since your pump is not coming on, but your engine is cranking (makes stuff like NSS playing up less likely).
Since everything worked before you took battery out and did some stuff with the injectors, the first thing is to check the work done. Have ALL the wires etc been reconnected? Check twice.
Checked fuses? Fuel pump relay in PDC? Although rare, not impossible to fail (switch with another relay, like the AC)
Next thing: Check for codes (always handy). And: is the pump getting volts?

Okay, First i took the battery off, cleaned the terminals and made sure the wires were connecting good.
Second I checked the fuel relay and ac relay and made sure they was getting voltages with a meter while switching the key on and off. And they were getting the voltages.
Third, I tried starting with starter fluid just to see if it would start and it wouldn't.
I checked the fuel rail for pressure and it didn't have really none? Not like I would think it should. How does the fuel rail pressure works? Do I need to pressurize it?
I am going to swap the relays right now to see if that does anything. Also fuses?

OK, so its not likely to be the relay, which is one thing.
Your fuelpressure is something to measure when key in on (or engine running preferably), should be in ballpark of 49 PSI if I recall correctly. If you messure nothing, you likely have nothing, which narrows it more down to the fuelpump itself not working (or not getting voltage).
Before condemning the fuelpump itself, I think some wiser folk regarding fuelpump testing should chime in, since I never had to test mine or swap mine (I think swapping in a pre-update XJ like yours is easier than in mine, where you need to drop the tank to get to it).

Okay, So i ran direct power from the battery to the pump connector and the pump turned on. I also tried the connector that goes back to the engine bay with a meter and got some readings.
Is there anyway that the CPS went out? I replaced it 2 years ago but could it just went out all of the sudden? I read that it can cause the systoms that I am receiving I believe

Why all the mystery what are the numbers exactly? We are all friends here you can be honest, no need to be shy either. Why haven't you checked for codes?

And codes? I don't know how to check for codes, they have never shown up anywhere
