The ground wire that is attached to the base of the fuel pump on my XJ came deattached. How do I fix this?

Hey, just had the same problem happen to me yesterday. Went to start nothing happen, long story short found the ground wire on the fuel pump had eroded off.
To fix it I removed the pump assembly from the tank, let it dry off as much as I could.
Wire wheeled the part of the assembly that the ground originally connected to (covered the rest of the assembly to protect it).
Tried soldering it first, but that wouldn’t hold very well, so I ended up welding the ground back onto the plate. Cleaned it up and reinstalled it and it has been working great since, drove it an hour to work this morning and it hasn’t had a problem.
I was going to replace the pump while I was there but I read a bunch of bad reviews on the replacement pumps the local shops sold, so instead I just replaced the filter on it.
Might be some better alternatives but that’s what worked for me.
Good luck to you if you haven't already fixed it.

Yeah, thats what I would have prefered to do, but its my daily driver so it needed to be operational as soon as possible. Plus I had to get to the Bob Seger concert later that day! :P
