Pretty sure they sell aftermarket fuel pumps but never saw any aftermarket fuel filters. Try JCWhitney.com.
alright...so i look at some on jc whitney...does anyone have an after market fuel pump? if you do, does it give you more power since its givin you more fuel cause i want to put a after market fuel pump after i overhaul my Inline 6

No more power! But it depends what kind of fuel pump you use. Most are rated @xxx GPH The higher gph the more HP it will suport. Hope this helps!

Unless you perform major performance upgrades to the engine and change out your fuel injectors a better fuel pump will not do much.

wouldnt you just need a different fuel pressure regulator since the fuel pump already puts out more pressure than the engine needs, thus the return fuel line?

SO i put a gas tank and fuel pump from like a 96 grand cherokee i think it was in my 89 wag/cherokee. IT was a lot bigger then my pump and had like 6 wires coming out of the pump where my old one had 2. So i had to splice some things after finding out what each wire did to make it work on my jeep. But now it burns rich as hell and guzzles gas. I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator but it was the one for my old tank so should i put a fuel pressure regulator from a jeep that goes with that tank i got now. Will that fix my prob.Originally Posted by electricfuzz

I am no expert at mods nor an expert mechanic, I just learn what I need to know to keep my cars drivable! Having stated that, it is my understanding that the fuel pump puts out more pressure than required by the injectors and the fuel pressure regulator (located by the fuel rail) regulates how much pressure the injectors get and sends the "overflow" fuel back into the tank. A much higher pressure fuel pump may effect the efficiency of the regulator (in other words, over power the regulators max through put), but I am not sure. Was this mod done for more power or done out of need and available material?
I would think that the regulator should send the same amount of fuel to the injectors regardless of pump/tank size, but that does not explain your increased gas consumption. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than myself will way in.

probebly blow up your regulator{boom}gas all over, engine fire.thats why they make the right parts.jmo
