My 2000 DD has developed a fuel leak
. The fuel line is like new from rail to tank, but where the genuises at jeep put a metal bracket around the metal fuel line and attached it to the intake, it has rusted or worn thru and now I have a pin hole leak. I was just going to cut the bad part out, flare the ends a bit and put some high pressure fuel line in place with clamps. Anybody see any problem with this fix? Or should I buy some plumbing splices and do it that way? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I did the same thing on mine, I put a piece of high pressure line on the intake side, put a barbed reduced fitting in that, and connected it to the stock line. I did it this way because inside te stock clip you can see it is reduced. works fine, no leaks at all

***update with solution****
So I took that fuel line out and located the pin size hole after dipping it in a sink full of water. Got a pipe cutter from the local hardware store and bought this 5/16" compression fitting from Oreilly and after cutting out a short segment around the pin hole, installed each end at it's appropriate quick connect (one end at the fuel rail and the other below the firewall to the supply line from the pump) so I wouldn't have to worry about the alignment and then installed the compression fitting. No more leak.
