Fuel leak throwing away money
[B]Have fuel leak at fuel tank connection 99 Cherokee[B]Seems to be leaking at top of tank. 1. Is this a known problem area? 2. Is there a reasonable priced fix to avoid buying a small but expensive ($45) section of fuel line? Please let me know.

Here's a pic of the fuel pump installation on top of the fuel tank.

The silver unit in the center is the fuel pressure regulator/filter/check valve assembly. The hose coming in from the top of the pic and going to the regulator, with the blue coupling, is the fuel pressure out hose to the fuel rail. That fitting is a quick disconnect.
The other black hose going over the top of the regulator is the roll over valve vent tube going to the charcoal canister.
The large white ring with raised lugs is the hold down ring for the pump module assembly. It holds the fuel pump on to the fuel tank.
The fuel pressure out hose may be leaking at the quick disconnect. The fuel pump hold down ring gasket my be leaking. The regulator to fuel pump housing gasket may be leaking. The roll over valve tube wouldn't be leaking.
To access these items you'll need to drop the fuel tank.
Depending upon how old your fuel pump module assembly is, you may want to consider replacing it while the tank is removed. I recommend a Bosch module assembly. Carter is also a good pump. Not Failtex (Airtex).
Fuel leaks are very dangerous. You should address this as soon as possible.
