Default Loose injector

I've found any of the more common upgrade injectors are much better than stock XJ ones in all areas. You'll get a smoother running engine, quicker throttle response and a bit higher MPG. Now I know some will say this or that injector puts out this or that flow or you need this or that fuel pressure regulator for them to work but my own (I'll admit far from scientifically perfect) tests have resulted in me getting pretty much the same performance/MPG with them all. And changing the FPR (fuel pressure regulator) with the Ford "yellow stick" 710's from the 39psi to the 49psi one didn't really change much. Again not for my XJ at least. Although I did lose some City MPG with the 49psi FPR. I got the best MPG Highway with the EV1.3 Neon injectors which look exactly like stock XJ injectors but have 4 holes closely spaced together.
Hey I wanted to reach out to you about this post, you may have some insite that I need.. I just installed the 703 injectors in my 88 Cherokee chief. They seem to not be sitting all the way down into the block. They are seated into the fuel rail but it looks to me like they aren't all the way into the engine. Do I have to modify where the fuel rail is mounted? I don't have any leaks that I can see. They just seem to be way to loose.
Thanks
