Default fuel injector tech question.

My 96 4.0l HO has an intermittent rough running engine problem. Diagnosed it to one injector. Tapped on it and its gone. Comes back now and again and moves to a different injector but nothing a generous tap from a half inch extension won't fix.

Anyways.....I decided to fix it for good. I got a set of neon injectors (part number 0280155703) off of a couple of running engines from the junk yard and I'm gonna make one of those do it yourself injector cleaners with the 5cc syringe and such I've read about.

QUESTION 1: Do I need new o-rings for a neon or a jeep, or maybe something in between OR.....are all injector o-rings the same size??????

Question 2!! I'm gonna get a momentary switch and a 12V adapter from radioshack to build my injector cleaner. Does polarity matter when I hook it to my EV1 pigtail????

i believe all the Orings are the same size but some injectors have pintle caps and nylon spacers...

Im sure polarity matters so hook them up like you took them off.......

I have to hook a 12V adapter to the plug I cut off another harness. Which wire is Pos(+) which is NEG(-)

You can get the o-rings for either vehicle considering they are the same size. Doesn't really matter. I just ordered an entire rebuild kit that comes with the spacers, pintle caps, filters, and o-rings for a total of $18 which is less than what the o-rings cost from Pepboys. Here's the link for the set on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_500wt_1182 . Also, there should be a "+" sign on the positive side of the injector. Just match it up while the harness is plugged in and see which wire goes to the positive side and you've got your answer. Good luck.
