Fuel and coolant temp gauges on when ignition is off

I've searched and have not found a thread about this particular issue: I just noticed this morning that my fuel gauge and temp gauge stay 'on' when I turn the jeep off. I am also able to turn my headlamps on and off with the ignition switch in the 'off' position and the key removed. Is any part of this normal? If not, what could be the cause: a bad ignition switch, or something else? I never really noticed the gauges before...

Thanks

Some guages "drift" when no power is put to them, kinda how your tach just falls if shut off "not the same but yet kinda is" And yes you can turn on head lights with out a key alot of cars you can do that.

Thanks, Troy. Just needed a sanity check, since I had not noticed this before.

OK...when I went back out to the jeep a little later, I noticed the coolant temp gauge had fallen all the way to the left. I just assumed the senders for both fuel and coolant temp were powered by 12V and would not move the gauges w/o power on.
