Default Fuel Cap is stuck on my 91' Cherokee....

Hi all,

I know this is a bonehead question , when I was at the gas station earlier, I noticed my fuel cap wouldn't come off. When I tried to loosen it, it kept clicking. This is probably an OEM cap. I was thinking of prying it out with a screwdriver, but want a second opinion before I try.

Thanks

Try to bust the top of the gas cap with channel locs, then spin the remainer out. Might want to have a new cap handy first tho.

I have tried this. Not sure about the channel lock method, I don't want to break the tank (damage the threads)...lol. I do have a new cap handy though.

on my 98 and 2000 the part the cap screws onto is replaceable so id your 91 is same then you could always try and get another from a jy if threads aget damaged, althoughm make sure the threading is the same because my 98 and 2000 were not

Hi Guys,

I wound up prying it with a screwdriver, very easy. It came out instantly and I replaced it with a new one. It was easier than I thought.

Thanks
