Default ft wheel bearings indexed?

Ok, this may be a stupid question. I replaced my ball joints and ft brakes over the weekend, and ever since I have a humming noise when accelerating in 4WD. It's fine in 2WD, so it seems related to the 4WD components being loaded. I noticed the rt axle plastic dust cover seems slightly off center with the axle tube ever since the repairs. Are the wheel bearings flanges indexed to the knuckle? I did not notice any noises before, so I question if this is related....
