How can I figure out what front and rear axels are on my Cherokee?

Just curious...

There is a thread on here with pictures of the various axles that are found on an XJ. I'd link it for you but I don't know how from my iPod. Try the search feature....it works great!

d30 in front
rear could be either a d35 or 8.25
do you have anti lock breaks? if so its a d35
post a pic of the rear diff cover.

All XJ's came with a D30 in front. If it has a flat spot on the bottom of the rear then it's a 8.25, round on bottom then it's a d35.
