Exclamation Frozen Steering Wheel?

I'm attempting to replace my clock spring and cannot get the steering wheel off!! The air bag is removed, the center nut is off and the steering wheel puller cannot pull it off! It's on so tight that one of the bolts to the puller pulled the aluminum threads right out of the steering wheel itself making it useless! I've even tried penetrating oil.

If anyone has any advice and or ideas please let me know!!

I have removed two or three without a problem.
And one of them was from a steering column that was already out of the Jeep.
Only thing I can come up with would be to bang on it with a baby sledge.
And thinking that would be the end of that steering wheel have a replacement ready.

I had this. NOTHING Would shift that steering wheel. Not a puller, not heat, not oil. After I stripped the threads in the wheel I tried rigging up nuts behind the wheel for the puller bolts to thread into but I just ended up snapping the bolts themselves. I took it to the local shop but they couldn't shift it either. The wheel and steering column came out in one piece and I had to buy another wheel and steering column from a scrapyard.
I think the Alloy wheel and the steel steering column just rust together.
Good luck!

If you have a dedicated steering wheel puller like this one

Amazon Amazon

The horseshoe looking piece is to push the steering wheel down so you can remove that ring. It is not a real snap ring, but it can be removed with a pocket knife or very small screw driver. Then you will be able to pull the wheel off

The steering wheel puller I rented didn't come with that U shaped part. I'm still trying to find this retaining ring you speak of..

You won't see it until you push the steering wheel down

Down towards the ground? If I put any more pressure downwards I will break the column.
