I tried to use my front windshield wipers the other day, they did not work. They were working fine the day before, and then just stopped working.

I checked the fuse and it seemed fine, I applied power directly to the motor and it works fine.

So now I'm starting to wonder if it is the switch in the steering column.

I'm just wondering what you guys think. Should I go buy a replacement fuse and see if that fixes the problem even though the fuse I have right now seems to be working? Could it be a wiring problem? Could it be the switch?

It just seems weird to me that it would be working one day and then not the next.

Also the washer spray dose not work, I don't even hear the pump turn on.

My rear windshield washer/wiper works fine.

could be a loose wire.

 

Is there a fuse for the front washer motor on a '97 XJ? It was working yesterday and today it will not even make any noise.... Ther rear one went out today too. All wipers wirk just not the washer motors....

 

Did you ever solve your front wiper prob? I've got the same situation going on.
