Front brake upgrade questions
I've a few questions about the WJ front brake upgrade. My searches haven't yielded answers yet.
You want to stick with your stock 5 X 4.5" hubs to retain your stock wheels correct? But the WJ lug pattern is 5 X 5" correct? Stock XJ rotors are 11", and stock WJ rotors are 12".
So where can I find a 12" rotor with a 5 X 4.5" bolt pattern?! Can I just build myself a 5 X 4.5" template and drill the holes myself?
I understand that a JKS .25" spacer must be used when using the WJ knuckles, but are there any other spacing/custom touches needed?
Also, will the WJ booster/master cylinder be any upgrade for my '98 XJ?

The following applies to using the Akebono Dual Piston Calipers only.
I added 1/4" spacers betwen the knuckle and the caliper saddle to properly space the caliper over the rotor.
I'm running Ford Explorer SportTrac Rotors.
Do yourself a huge favor and order a set of TeraFlex Offset TRE's for your tierod and keep it OTK. you'll have to clearance the nut on the draglink TRE a little bit.
Depending on your wheel size/B.S. you might have to grind the caliper a bit for clearance.
HTH.

So what's needed for the break setup you have?
WJ knuckles, calipers, spacers? What vehicle does the rotors come on?

The spacers I mentioned are in addition to the Hub spacer.
Again, rotors are off a Ford Explorer SportTrac
Tes the Akebono calipers were stock on some model years, others used the single piston Teves calipers.
All that's need is the hub spacers, caliper spacers.
