ok , i noticed my frnt left drive shaft and u joint were making noise i checked it and looks like i need new ones, but i got a 95 sittin here for parts and those parts look fine so i figured i would take that shaft and joints assembled and just put them in the other jeep .

wow so the only cost would be the seals and lube ? and hope the other parts are good. they do appear to be better. on the one i need fixed the ujoints are shot and the dr shft feels like its broke. does it just feel broke because ujoints are shot ? if thats the case i will tackle the ujoints only and be done with it rather than do all that work on two jeeps. can ujoints be done on jeep or must they be removed. thanks for any input

WOW, I think your trying to say you need a new front axle shaft an/or u-joint. Are you talking about the one single front drive shaft or are you talking about the two axle shafts in the front axle? If its front axle shafts you dont need to pull the diff cover, just unbolt the brake caliper and then the 3 bolts for the wheel bearing (you also can remove the one big bearing nut in the middle or leave it as the shafts will come out just the same). After you remove the 3 bearing bolts it will take some beating and/or prying to get the bearing off, just be easy not to smash it to hell cuz then youll be replacing that also. Then the shafts will slide right out.
