Default front sway bar bolts

In the process of lowering the front sway bar so I could install my front mount hitch reciever I snapped the passenger side bolts. anybody know what size drill bit and tap I need? or should I try hammering out the weld nuts and sliding in flag nuts? the hitch mounts between the sway bar and the "frame" the new bolts are slightly longer than the old ones, same thread pattern. 94 4.0 HO auto.

well, thanks to the way the bolt heads sheared off on an angle my holes came out crooked, and the tap wont bite properly. I think I'm going to try and hammer the nuts out and take a piece of 3/8" plate, cut it so it'll fit inside the frame rail and drill and tap that before it goes in. this way I can upgrade from the grade 5 bolts that came with the kit to a larger diameter grade 8. and thanks to the local hardware store labeling the thread count on the bolt bins finding the proper tap shouldnt be a problem. anybody think this is a bad idea?
