Well I can't speak from experience because I was not the one to do the repair. However My xj at one time had the same problem according to the previous owner. He said he took the front glass out, and grinded down the rust spots filled in with some bondo and re-painted. I have no idea how long it took him or how bad the rust is but If he had never told me there is no way I would have known that there was any problem. I guess it depends on where the rust is and how bad. The only thing different about the jeep is that the color he used to paint over his work was plain black, so there is a black stripe going across above the windshield that starts right at the window line and goes back about 3-4 inches.

as far as the water problem. Mine was showing signs of a leak on the ground but I couldnt figure out where the leak was. Turns out it was dripping out where the hose met the coolant bottle but mine is the closed pressure system. Your's might be different though.

thats the best way to fix it... remove windsheild and then treat it like every other rust spot...... clean it up, remove all rust in area.. patch it, bondo it seal it and then paint it

Just wondering if a rust converter would work
