Front recovery point?
Just looking under the jeep was wondering if this bar can be used as a recovery point? The photo below isnt my jeep just the best photo i could find.

Absolutely not. the sway bare is held in by 2 small bolts on each side. You WILL NOT get one good tug on that without it ripping out and shredding your unibody. Don't do it. Invest in a set of tow hooks or a front mounting hitch.

That bar is only held to the frame by 4 small small bolts. It will rip out of ur frame. If u don't have the skill or cash for new bumpers just use ur axle. Still not something I like to do but it works. U should just get some good bumpers with recovery points.

I've used it once, I was stuck with no way to access my rear tow hooks, and had none on the front. Nothing bent or broke, but I wouldn't recommend it, it's only held on by four relatively tiny bolts. That motivated me to finally get front tow points :P
